Fall Leaves

Fall is definitely in the air here in Colorado. This card was inspired by fellow demo RaeDeen, who showed me how to make the leaves. They are die cut from Daffodil Delight cardstock and fall inks. We have a great leaf set in the Holiday Catalog, Autumn Accents (127812). The top one uses More Mustard, Always Artichoke, and Cajun Craze. The bottom one uses More Mustard, Cajun Craze, and Cherry Cobbler. The middle one is from Whisper White cardstock, and Always Artichoke, Bravo Burgundy, and Elegant Eggplant. On the two yellow leaves, first draw on the veins with the small end of the stylus or use the bone folder, then sponge on the colors in the order given. I didn't draw veins on the white, only because it is a lighter weight cardstock. When you have the leaves colored like you want them,use the water spots stamp from the French Foliage Set (120845) and Chocolate Chip ink, then sponge Chocolate Chip around the edges. Add the Chocolat Chip marker to the Color Spritzer Tool (107066) and add some aging to the leaves.

Take one of our Stampin' Spritzer bottles (126185) and add a couple of drops of Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint (116806) and fill with rubbing alcohol. Shake well and spray all over the leaves, including the back. (To keep the sprayer unclogged, turn upside down and spray until no more liquid comes out. It can then be stored for the next time you need it.) Once the leaves are well sprayed, wad them up into a very small ball, then carefully unfold them. Set them aside to dry and your fall leaves are ready to use on your project.

To create my card, I used More Mustard for the card base, Cajun Craze for the mat, and the DSP is Orchard Harvest (126895). I stamped the sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set (115370) on More Mustard, punched it out with the Window Punch (119857), and mounted it on a piece of Cajun Craze punched with the Modern Label Punch (119849. To this I added a small piece of ribbon, which I just tied into a single knot. For the inside of the card, I added a small strip of the DSP to the top.

Frosty window

I made this card some time ago, but plan to make more like these, so thought I would share how this is done. Cut your card base at 5 1/2" x8 1/2" and score in half at 4 1/4". Then cut one end off at 5 1/4". Take the piece that you just cut off and cut off  another inch from the same side. You should now have a 2 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece. From a piece of Window Sheet (114323), cut 1 1/2" x 5 1/2" strip. Close the small fold on your base and stamp your sentiment just under the "flap", which will put the sentiment on the inside of the card.

Place a piece of Sticky Strip (104294) along the bottom on the flap and attach the window sheet strip. Place another piece of Sticky Strip on the smaller piece of cardstock along the 5 1/2" side and lining the opposite side along the bottom of the card base, stick it to the bottom of the window sheet.

This creates the actual card and you can decorate as desired.

On this card, I used Christmas Lodge (123767), Red Glimmer Paper (121790), Scallop Trim Border Punch (118402), Multipurpose Glue (110755), and Dazzling Details ((124117).

mini treat bag

This is a quick mini treat bag. I used the Petite Purse Die (125606), in Pumpkin Pie cardstock and cut off the purse flap. I added strips of ribbon across the front and made shred from Old Olive cardstock, but cutting strips and curling with the bone folder (102300). This breaks down the cardstock and you can then actually pull the stip into two strips. Decorate the front as you want.

Vintage tag

I have been wanting to try one of these tags for some time now, and really glad that I finally did. I used crumb cake card stock and cut out a tag from the Two Tags Die (115954). I started my using a script stamp similar to En Francais (109521) with Soft Suede (126978) ink, then added my image and colored it in. When you get done with this, crumble it up, carefully because it will tear. I don't suggest using water because the inks could run. Wad it up into a ball and carefully "unwad" (not even sure that is a word), and flatten it out. Take the Soft Suede and using the pad or a dauber rub ink across the tag. It will show up darker on the creases to give it the vintage look. Do this until it looks pleasing to you. I then punched out another tag and using the Multi Purpose Glue (110755) attached it to the back and added a ribbon to finish it off.

I  think that the next time I will just add the script to the back before scrunching and rub the ink across it to complete the tag. Then I won't need to use the second tag. I just thought it really looked used and not attractive with just the wrinkles on the back. So the extra tag was my first thought.

Punched Scentsational

I really like this card and hope that you will give it a try.

The base is Whisper White and I punched out the shapes with the Holliday Collection Dies (127814) on the cover. I also punched out shapes from the Festival of Prints DSP stack (126904), using the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets (120805) to the back of these cutouts, then placing them through the windows on the cover to attach them to the inside of the card. I used Gumball Green, Chocolate Chip, and Cherry Cobbler markers to "stitch" around the cut outs. I did the same around the images on the inside of the card. I used Cherry Cobbler to stamp the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes (115370) onto white 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon (109170). Make sure you let this dry very well before placing on the card or the ink will smear. I then added small bows and was done!

Twisted Halloween

This is a fun style and I am sure I will be making more cards from this idea. I used an 11"x4 1/4" piece of grey cardstock for the base. Score from one corner to the opposite corner and fold on this score, then score down the middle. This will form a pocket on the outside of the card and on the inside. I chose not to use the pockets so taped them down with SNAIL adhesive (104332). I then decorated it with the Owl Builder Punch (118074), Bird Builder Punch (117191), which I used to create the wings, branch, and hat, Orchard Harvest DSP (126895). The moon is pumpkin pie run through the Perfect Polka Dot Folder (117335) and brushed grey ink around the edge and across the dots with a dauber (102892). The bag I free cut from natural white and black cardstock.

MOOOOO Purse

Just a short post today. If you have seen much of my blog at all, you already know how much I love this Petite Purse Die (125606) and my Big Shot (113439). And, by the way, I haven't found a die that won't work in this machine! I do suggest that you also purchase the Standard Premium Crease Pad (113476) or the Extended Premium Crease Pad (117630). They make the folds for this die, and any other die with scores, so easy to fold.

I used Whisper White to create the purse, then I used the "steam die" from the Holiday Collection Framelits Dies (127814) as a stencil to create the spots, along with the Basic Black ink pad and a dauber (102892). I punched out the scallop flower with one of the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (118309), then a white round punch and a black dot from the 1/16" punch (101227), and attached it just above the flap tab with a glue dot (103683).

Telescope Snowman

Here is a fun card. The snowman is built by stamping circles and putting them together with small brads, on each end of the middle circle, then I used dimensionals to place it on the card base. The snowflakes are cut outs from a die, but you could also stamp them on with white staz-on ink.The stamp set Stylin Snowfolk (126285) would work great for this idea. I used Whisper White and Pacific Point cardstock, added a real red flower with the flower from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Set (118309), and added a small rhinestone (119246) to the center. Have to have some bling, you know :) !

It is almost cold enough this morning to think of snow, although I am no way ready for snow, yet!

Miche purse

 

Not only am I an independent demonstrator for Stampin' Up, but I am also a Miche representative and this project combines the two! Miche has a wonderful Luxe line of fine purse shells and I thought it would be fun to see if I could "case" one with our Stampin' Up Petite Purse Die (125606).

 

I used Rich Razzleberry cardstock (the top picture is a truer color than the bottom one) and cut out the purse with the die and my Big Shot (113439). {Have I ever mentioned how much I LOVE this machine!!!} I actually use the cardboard that comes with the die as a shim with the Crease Pad (113476) to get great creases that fold so easily, instead of the plastic pieces that come with the pad. I placed the purse straight up and down on the Simply Scored Diagonal Plate (125586) and scored on every third line. I then turned it sideways and did the same thing, to create diamonds all across the purse. I punched out a small square from the silver cardstock and matted it with a slightly larger piece of Rich Razzleberry and using a glue dot placed it on the front of the flap. Then I used a silver glitter glue on each diamond intersection all over except for the bottom of the purse. Let it dry and put it all together!

 

The Miche purse actually has brass accents, but I think this is a pretty cute similarity. See what do you think? You can see the original purse right here !

Fall roses

Fall is definitely in the air around here and here is a card with non-traditional colors for my roses. The rose season isn't over yet, as my rose plants are proving!

I used Cajun Craze, Very Vanilla, and More mustard cardstock, More Mustard,Cajun Craze, and Gumball Green inks, DSP from the Festival of Prints Paper Stack (126904),5/8" Crochet Trim (118481), Scallop (119856) and Large Oval (119855) punches, and sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes (115370). And the star of the card is from Stippled Blossoms (126745).

The top layer rose was created at the same time as the first one. Just stamp the image onto your mat piece then without reinking stamp onto a scrap with the More Mustard, then using the Stamp-a-ma-jig (101049), use the Cajun Craze to stamp on the top layer, (add your leaves to the lighter image), which will then be cut out and placed on the mat with dimensionals (104430). I used the dauber (102892) to sponge Soft Suede ink around the mat and the large oval punch to age it a bit. Then on the mat, I also roughed up the edges with a distressing tool, or you can use the edge of scissors to do this also.

And to finish it off, cuz I usually think we need some kind of BLING, I used dots of Dazzling Details (124117) on the centers of the flowers.

I hope this will inspire you to look at different colors for traditional images and give them a try.

Pocket card/gift

This pocket card is a great way to use up scraps. The back is pumpkin pie cardstock cut at 6" x 3". The bottom paper is a 3" square cut from the Festival of Prints DSP Stack (126904), and the top piece is also a 3" square cut from Polka Dot Parade DSP (126902). It is then cut in half diagonally and taped to the top of the first square. I tore a piece of chocolate chip and added it to the diagonal to give a little more dimension, taped ribbon over the seam created where the two papers overlap and taped it to the back piece to create a pocket. Decorate as you like. I used a retired Halloween set and placed a pencil and spoon in the pocket just so you could see what it was. I also used the Basic Black Marker (100082) to create faux stitching around the top half of the card. Then fill the pocket with a special goodie!

Tea Bag card

I thought this would be nice for coworkers.

I used a piece of pumpkin pie cardstock cut at 6 1/4" x 3 1/4"; scored at 1 1/2", 3 3/4", and 4". [The Simply Scored Scoring Tool (122334) is a "must have" in my opinion. It saves so much time and headache (scoring incorrectly without it)!]

The black mat is 3" x 2"

Stamp the mug from Scencational Season stamp set (121026) in black onto 2 3/4" x 1 3/4" piece of pumpkin pie, cutting out with the matching framelit die (127814), and color over the snowflake with a black marker.

Place Sticky Strip(104294) on the top and bottom of the 1 1/2" side of the card. This will form the pocket to hold the tea bag.

The sleave is black cardstock cut at 5 1/4" x 1/2", and scored at 1 3/8",1 5/8", and 4". Stamp the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes (115370) and punch out with the window punch (119857). Wrap around the card and tape together, making sure it is loose enough to slide off the card easily. With the sleave seam on the back side of the card attach the sentiment to the front side of the sleave.

Quick and Easy Tags

I created these tags with the Scentsational Season Bundle (129945), 2 3/8" scallop punch (118874),   1 3/4" circle punch (119850), Festival of Prints DSP stack (126904),  Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, and Gumball Green cardstocks, Chocolate Chip and Cherry cobbler markers to color the gingerbread, Pacific Point ink for the mug, and coordinating markers to write the "To" and "From" on each tag.

I think the "to and from" stamps from the Chock-Full of Cheer stamp set (126715) would have worked great for these tags, but since I didn't have this set YET, I improvised with what I did have :) !

More Watercolor Winter

Again using the Watercolor Winter stamp set (129724) from the Holiday Catalog. Cardstock is Wild Wasabi, Cherry Cobbler, and Whisper White. I used Wild Wasabi, Real Red, Cherry Cobbler, and Soft Suede. The flower is Real Red for the main image and stamped over with the Cherry Cobbler, using the Stamp-a-ma-Jig (101049). The greetings is Cherry cobbler cut with the Apothecary Accents Framelits Die (127003) and using the Curly Cute stamp set (117014) stamped in Real Red on Whisper White (3/4" strip with rounded corners), also using the stamp-a-ma-jig. If you need a different size rounded corner than our 3/16" corner punch (119871), you can use any of the circle punches. Instead on placing the paper in the punch as usual, turn the punch upside down and place the cardstock through what is now the top. This will punch only one side of the circle, giving you a rounded edge. Hope this makes sense and hope you will give it a try.

Blue Poinsettia

This card was inspired by the gorgeous plant I had last year. I used the Watercolor Winter stamp set (129724), whisper white, gumball green, and pacific point cardstocks, gunball green, pacific point, and soft suede inks.

 I stamped the first two blooms directly on the whisper white cardstock, stamping the first image off on scrap paper to mute the color a bit, then using full ink coverage for the top layer. I then created two masks of the bloom. You do this by stamping on a post it, making sure some of the image is on the sticky part, then cutting it out and placing it over the stamped image on the card. You can then stamp the pine needles all around without getting it on the bloom image. Remove the masks and stamp on the pine cones with soft suede. I prefer the look with out the outline image, but you can add it if you like. Just make sure to stamp off the first image or choose a darker ink for the line image. I also used the stamp-a-ma-jig (101049) to position the lined images on the blooms. Lining up the center petals works the best for me to align the images. There is a larger gap between two of them to help with this.

The middle bloom is stamped on a piece of scrap whisper white, cut out, and attached with dimensionals (104430).

I completed the image by placing Dazzling Details (124117) just around the tips of the petals and Cherry Cobblwe (125585) on the inside of the blooms.

One sheet gift box

This whole project is made from one sheet of 12x12 cardstock or designer paper. It was inspired by fellow demonstrator, Rebekah Harwood. I used a sheet from the Be of Good Cheer collection(126896).

Cut a 2" piece off and you can actually cut this into shreds to bed your gift inside the box. Cut a 1" strip which will be the bow, cut another 2" strip for the band that goes around the box. Now cut a 7" piece, which will give you a 7" square and cut the last piece into a 5" square for the lid.

Beginning with the 7" square, score around all four sides at 1 3/4". Fold each piece and cut a slit up to the score line once on each side. This will create the tabs to make your box. Decide which side you want for the outside, add adhesive and form your box. Do the same for the lid with the 5" square, scoring all around at 5/8".

With the 2" strip, score at 2 3/4", 4 1/2", 8 3/8", and 10". Add adhesive to one end and wrap around box before adherring to make sure it fits. This will hold your gift box closed.

Now for the bow: Cut off 5" from the 1" strip. This will be the tails. Cut out notches from the ends and tape down to the band. With the 8" piece, add adhesive to one end and connect forming a circle, attach this to the tail with the seam down. Add a glue dot to the top of the seam and press the center of the circle into it. This forms the loop of the bow. I then cut a 1"x 2"  from one of the "scraps and formed another tube to place in the middle of the bow loops. Add a tag, which can also be made from the same sheet of paper/cardstock, and the goodie to the inside and you are ready to give it away.

Tumbling Gingerbread

Can you tell, I really like this set: Scentsational Season (121026) and Holiday Collection Framelit Dies (127814) OR save 15% on the Scentsational Season Bundle (129945), all available in the Holiday Catalog!

For this card I used Sahara Sand and Whisper White cardstock, Chocolate Chip and Cherry Cobbler inks, Be Of Good Cheer Designer Series Paper (126896), and Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set (115370).

Check through your embossing folders to emboss the center panel to add interest. Even the Perfect Polka Dots Folder (117335) would work.

Halloween Scentsational

I receive most of my inspirations from so many people and sources, but once in awhile an idea comes completely from me :) . This is one of those ideas. I used the Scentsational Season (121026) stamp set and Holiday Collection Framelit Dies (127814) [ or save 15% on the bundle (129945)], Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack (126904) all from the Holiday Catalog. I also used pumpkin pie, chocolate chip and whisper white cardstock, Teeny Tiny Messages (115370), and the Word Window punch (119857). I actually used a pumpkin pie ribbon that has retired.

After stamping the mug and cutting it out, I colored it over a couple of times with the pumpkin pie marker to cover the snowflake image. For the mummy, I ran the image through the Big Shot (113439) using the Stripped Embossing Folder (123128), highlighting the stripes with the Sahara Sand marker and used the Basic Black (100082) for the eye placement and pupils, and circle punches from whisper white to create the eyes. I also used dimensionals (104430) to place the "steam" which is stamped with Sahara Sand, and to place the mummy on the card.

Sometimes it is fun to use stamps for a totally different idea, which is what I did here. I think this would also be great to make this into a pocket and insert an apple cider packet for a great gift idea. I hope you will give it a try!
