Bordering on Romance

Wow, I sure don't know where the time goes! It doesn't seem that long ago since I posted, but the dates prove otherwise!

I have been doing some creating, though! I have been trying to create cards that can be used for notes or can later on have a sentiment stamped to the inside for a special occasion. This is one of those cards using one of my favorite floral sets, Bordering On Romance. I used my markers to color in the flowers, Petals-a-Plenty to emboss the cover and finished it off with a bit of ribbon. It was very quick and easy (two of my favorite things, which is why I love creating cards!!)

Double Heart Valentine

Well, guess you can consider me way ahead or way behind! Here is a Valentine card that is really simple to create and looks so nice. You could change this up for an anniversary or other celebrations just by changing the sentiment and/or colors. If you look closely you will see that I also did a small strip of the designer paper across the top of the inside. I also added a strip to the bottom.

Graduation Tri-Fold

Hi, everyone! I am doing a second post to day, because I was asked about this style of card, which I posted earlier as a St. Patty's day card:HERE

Using one sheet of 8 ½" x 11" card stock, cut two card bases ( 8 ½" x 5 ½" ). Score at 4 1/4" on both and also 2 1/8" on the second piece (This will be your insert panel). On the other end of the second piece, cut off 2 1/8". (This will give you three equal panels on the second piece.)

Cut out a window on the first piece. This will be the actual card base. My window was cut in 1 1/4" from each side.

Crease all of your scores.
      

Place sticky tape on one of the insert end panels. Then line the edge up to the center fold of the base card and attach.

Cut a piece of card stock to fit through your window. Mine is 2 1/8" x 2 3/4". (This can be cut from the piece you cut off of the insert.) Place a piece of tape on one long side. Lining up the insert and the cover, attach it to the inside of the insert edge, making sure it will fit through your window.

Cut designer papers to frame the cover window and place on insert panels. You can add or subtract how many panels are covered. I did the back two panels on the insert, leaving the card base panel, and the two first of three panels on the inside of the insert.
       

 Decorate your window piece and the back base panel as desired. You can also add any other embellishments to the other panels if desired. I chose to leave mine simple.

NOTE: when choosing your DSP, you will need three coordinating designs as they will all be visible.

Valentine Tree

This tree is probably one of my favorite "go to stamps". It is from the Thoughts and Prayers stamp set. This style of card could be changed to suit any occasion. I am planning to create a graduation card with diplomas and caps hanging. Just decided that, so no picture yet :)

This card is truly a very basic card to create. Start with a base card (mine is natural white) mat with a color (red), stamp your image(s) on another mat. Add punch art (hearts) and I used a trim at the bottom. The two hearts on the outside are also on dimensionals.

Gate Fold with a Top

I made a quick Mother's Day card with Dee Slater's inspiration. You can see her great card and watch how to create it here .

I used Whisper White, Old Olive, and Real Red card stock and some designer paper. I also used the Labels Collection framelits. I created the roses by punching out different sizes of scallop circles, cutting them into a wavy spiral and rolling them, beginning with the outer tip, to form the flower. The leaves in this example are actually a punch from Martha Stewart.

Mini File Folder Album

I decided I wanted to make a mini file folder album, but the only ones I could find were created from actual manila folders, SO I created my own! I used the envelope punch board (LOVE ) to create the folders, put it all together and here are a few of the pages. I really like how it came out and will definitely be making more of these! I wrote up the directions and took pictures as I was creating, so now I need to try making another one, to see how well  I did.

I was actually making this with someone in mind, but I really like it, so may have to make her another one! That doesn't usually happen to me, so a nice feeling. Not that I don't like what I do, but I love sending to friends and family!

Flower Basket

I placed the link to making this adorable basket on a previous post. And now I want to share another blogger who has inspired me so much. Kitti Caracciolo inspired me to create the flowers for this basket from the Itty Bitty Shapes punch set. Check out her blog here. You may not understand where mine comes from because she does such great work, but I plan to do a lot of practice with her ideas!
