Crafting Table Box Card

It has been awhile since my last post. Not because I haven't been creating because that is an almost daily event. More like I have been having too much fun to stop and blog. I hope that you find this post worth the wait!

I saw a tool bench with this technique on Pinterest, (where else...lol) and had to give it a try. It was created with a larger piece of cardstock, but you know me, I want to use my 8 1/2" x 11, so......
 I created a crafting table, what else :)!

And here is how I did it:

Card Base: 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 2", 3 5/8", 7 3/8", and 9"

Table Brace: 1" x 6" scored at 1" from each end

Front Brace: 2" x 5 3/4"

Table: 3 ½" x 3 5/8", scored at 1 5/8" from 3 ½" side


You can stamp the bases or cover them with DSP:
Back panel: 3 ½" x 4"

Inside panels: 1 3/8" x 4"

Outside panels: 1 3/4" x 4"

Front Base: 1 3/4" x 7 ½"

Table Top: 1 3/4" x 3 3/8"

After decorating the card base, mark the inside panels 2" up from the bottom, next to the center score line. Attach the table brace at these marks. This will hold up the table top when the card is open.

Attach the front base to the outside panels of the base card.
Attach the bottom of the table to the back of the front base. The table top should now lie flat onto the table brace.

Finish decorating as desired.
On the back of the card you can place your sentiment.

The card will lie flat for mailing. Just lift up the table and fold the card to one side.

I used Whisper White card stock for all of the bases and matted with the Painter's Pallet DSP stack. It is only 6", so on the front base, I positioned a strip on the center, then cut two more at 3/4" wide to add to the ends. The craft signs and some of the tools are a sneak peak at a new set called Crafting Forever. It will be available on June 1, 2017, in the new catalog on page 181. I also used some stamps from another craft set that I have had for years.

There are so many ideas to be used with this fold. How about a Bar-B-Q or a vanity dresser.......
