Simple Dragonfly card

Here a clean and simple card. Well, now that I think about it, with the smudged edges, maybe not so clean.

The base is Calypso Coral and a Very Vanilla mat, with rounded corners on both. Using the Playful Pallet DSP stack and the dragonfly thinlit, cut out one full dragonfly and one of just the wings. Trim away any extra that came out with the wings. I used one of the mostly black sheets for the full piece and one of the more colorful pages for the wings.

Add the Fine Tip glue to the both sets of wings and Dazzling Diamonds glitter. DO NOT place glue onto the center section of the wings! The adhesive won't stick to put them together if you do. Set them aside to dry. Cut out a dragonfly body from the same paper as the bottom dragonfly.

Using a contrasting color of ink, sponge around the edges of the mat. I used Basic Grey. Stamp your sentiment onto the bottom of the mat, embossing with silver. Cut two strips of silver ribbon and tie together. Wrap these around your mat, taping to the back. Attach the mat to the card base.

Once the dragonfly wings are dry, attach the body of the full one to the upper part of the mat, gently curling up the wings. Add the separate body to the separate wings with glue. Add a line of dimentional  tape to the body and place on the first image, again curling up the wings. (HINT: the outer edge of the dimensionals work great for this.)

(Did you notice the "feelers"? I borrowed them from another stamp set.)

Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!
