Notepad Holder with calendar

I have seen several different styles of this item, but most of them are larger and use 12x12 cardstock. I like to use my 8 1/2 x 11 as much as possible, so here is my version.

As you can see, I created several in different colors. Made me feel like spring was a bit closer! :)

Now for the details:

Choose your base color. This front one is Daffodil Delight. Cut length wise at 3 3/4". Trim off 1/2" from one end. On the other piece cut off 4" from one end. This will give you one piece at 3 3/4" x 10 1/2" and one at 7" x 4 3/4".

Score the 10 1/2" piece at 1/2", 1 1/2", 2 1/2", and 6 1/2". Crease each score line and attach the 1/2" tab to the opposite end to form a "tent".

Score the other piece along the 7" side at 4 and 4 1/2", then the other side at 1/2" and 4 1/4". Trim off  the first 1/2" tab on the longer end down to 1 1/2". Repeat for the other side. Trim the small square tabs that are in the middle of the remaining 1/2" tab.

Cut two pieces of DSP, one at 3 1/2 x 3 3/4 and one at 3 1/2 x 2 1/4. Round the corners off one end of the larger piece. Glue or tape this to the larger portion end. Turn the piece over and attach the smaller piece of DSP to the opposite end.

I find it easier to attach the back of the noteholder to the "tent", then add adhesive to the 1/2 tabs and form the noteholder "box". Then round the top of the holder (you can round these corners before putting together if your rounder won't punch through all of the layers.

I cut the calendar pieces out, stack them together, holding them with small binder clips, and add crystal effects across the top. Allow to dry, remove clips, and tape/glue to the holder. This makes the pages an easy tear off calendar. I imagine you could use any liquid glue.
