Bloomin' Butterflies

SUPPLIES:

Cardstock: Daffodil Delight, Summer Starfruit, Naturals White

Ink: Summer Starfruit, Versa Mark, Tango Tangerine

Stamp Sets: Serene Silhouette, Papillon Potpourri

Accessories: Black embossing powder, heat tool, large oval scallop punch, Extra large oval punch, butterfly punch, aqua painter, Illuminate Glimmer refill, corner rounder punch, daubers or sponge, glue dots or multipurpose glue

DIRECTIONS:

Stamp three butterflies on the white with versamark and emboss with black powder. Using aqua painter, color each one with the glimmer ink. Wipe off any excess and allow to dry completely. Then paint two butterflies with tangerine ink and one with daffodil delight. You can highlight a bit with the opposite color on each butterfly. Again, let these dry completely. The punch does not allow for the antennae, so this is what I do: With your paper snips, cut down the outside of the antennae into the "head". Place image into the punch and carefully pull the antennae up out of the punch area. Punch out the butterfly and trim the area between the antennae.

Create the gatefold card with Daffodil Delight cardstock (8 1/2 x 5 1/2) scored at 2 1/8 and 6 3/8.
Fold on scores, meeting edges in the middle. Stamp image, off setting one side for different heights. Round the outer corners with the punch. Sponge around the outer edges of the card with Summer Starfruit.

For each butterfly, punch out naturals white with large oval, and with Summer Starfruit, a large scallop oval. Sponge around each piece with Summer Starfruit. Adhere these two pieces together. Add a small glue dot to each butterfly and add to ovals. Add adhesive to the left of the tangerine butterflies pieces and to the right of the Daffodil piecies. Adhere the Tangerine pieces to the top and bottom of the left side of the gate card, then center the Daffodil, sticking it to the right side of the card. I bent the wings up a bit for dimension. For the inside of the card, I used the oval framelits to cut out a large oval from Naturals White, sponging the edges with Summer Starfruit and stamping the same image from the cover toward the bottom and added a sentiment.

I hope you give this a try. It is a fun card! Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!!!
