Christmas Flower

As promised, here is another card with the Watecolor Winter stamp set (129724). I used Real Red for the full petals (remember, this is a 2 step stamp), Cherry Cobbler for the outlines, Gumball Green and Soft Suede for the pinecones. If you want to use only one color on your 2 step stamps, stamp off lightly on scrap paper to remove some of the ink from your first stamp, then use the full inking with your second layer. I didn't use the outline layer for the pinecones, just because I liked the way they looked on this card without it. You can guess where/how to position the second layer over the first or use a great tool called a Stamp-a-ma-jig (101049), and no that isn't a word I made up, even though it sounds that way!

I felt like it needed something to frame it, so I have a photo corner punch, which you can create by cutting/punching a square, cutting the square corners off and cutting/punching the square corner from the inside of the piece you cut off. Hope that makes sense. If not, let me know and I will try again.

This card is so simple with only layering of Gumball Green, Real Red, and Whisper White cardstock. I used chocolate chip for the corners. Give it a try. I really think that you will be pleased and the recipient will be amazed!

Have a great day and if you need to order this fun set or any supplies, just go to my SU site by clicking on the "Order Online" button here . And, as always, thanks for stopping by!

2-step poinsettia

Here is a simple holiday card using Whisper White and Gumball Green cardstock, Real Red, Gumball Green, and Chocolate Chip inks, and Watercolor Winter (129724) and Curly Cute (117014) stamp sets. I actually stamped the pinecones off on scratch paper so that they weren't so dark and circled the berries with the Real Red marker (100052).

If you haven't tried the 2 step stamping, please do, as there is so many look for it! Tomorrow, I will show you another card using this stamp set and technique that I think you will like! Til then, have a great day and thanks for stopping by! Don't forget, you can order 24/7 just by clicking the order online button to the right, and you will recieve a stamped card from me!

Scentsational cup of ...

A really simple holiday card using Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White cardstock, Cherry Cobbler and Sahara Sand inks, Be of Good Cheer designer series paper (126896),Scentsational Season (121026) and Bells & Boughs (120831) stamp sets, and the Holiday Collection Framelits Dies (127814). These dies are terrific for cutting out the shapes from the stamp set and don't forget that if you buy both together in the Scentsational Season Bundle (129945) you save 15%!

I even stamped a candy cane on whisper white cardstock for the inside of the card.

Hope you have a great stamping day and thanks for stopping by my blog!

Alll in Blue

This card is created using Bashful Blue, Pacific Point and Whisper White cardstock. I used the Bordering on Romance (125480) stamp set and colored it using the blender pen (102845) and the watercolor crayons in the Bright (119804) and Subtles (119802) collections. The largest mat is embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots Folder (117335), the bashful blue edges were created with the Finishing Touches Edgelits (127010), and the frames are from the Labels Collection Framelits (125595). The bashful blue frame was embossed with the Designer Frames Folders (123130) and the center punched out with the Extra-Large Oval punch (119859). I punched the colored image out with the same size framelit as the bashful blue and put it all together adding Pearl Basic Jewels (119247).

This may seem like a lot of steps, but it really is quick and easy. The most time consuming is  the coloring of the image, so you know it doesn't take too long. I hope you will try it. It could be done in any color scheme including a mix of colors. hmmm, may have to try a fall colored one next time.

Hope you have a great day and, as always, thank you so much for stopping by!

Sepia Blossom

My daughter told me I was rushing things when I showed her all of the Halloween I was doing, so you can imagine how she felt when I showed her a Christmas card!!! So, since some of you may feel the same, I decided to throw in a non-seasonal card. That doesn't mean that I have stopped creating for the holidays, so expect a lot more of those, too. :)

The base of this card is chocolate chip, with the stamped layer in natural ivory. The panel is sahara sand embossed with the Woodgrain folder (127821) from the holiday catty. The cut outs are from the Labels Collection Framelits (125598) and I stamped with the Stippled Blossoms (126745) and Thoughts and Prayers (113252) stamp sets. I used the oval scallop punch (119856) for the sentiment which was a sentiment stamp that I partially inked with the chocolate chip maker from the stamp set. I used soft suede, sahara sand, and chocolate chip ink pads and using a dauber and Chocolate chip ink, created my colored bow with the whisper white Taffeta Ribbon (109070). Just cut your desired length of ribbon, ink up the dauber, and spread on the front and back of the ribbon until you reach the desired shade. This works great for the organza ribbon (114319) also, for those times when you need a specific color that isn't available. I also punched around the chocolate chip framelit. The piercing mat (126199), Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack (126187) and the piercing tool (126189) work great for this!

Hope you enjoy this " seasonal " break. Have a great day and as always, thanks for stopping by!

mummy purse

Ok, I really love this die! I used the Petite Purse die (125606), with Natural White cardstock(102316) and embossed it with the Stripes Folder (123128). You will need to put the purse in sideways and emboss twice to cover the whole area. I then used the Sahara Sand marker (119703 - set) and outlined the stripes. If I slipped a bit, that was okay, cuz it gave him more character. :) I used the Basic Black marker (100082, or in the same set as above) and colored in an area for the smile and where I wanted the eyes. I chose to make the eyes from whisper white and basic black cardstock circle punches , although you might choose to use the google eyes (127539) from the holiday catalog.

Hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Petite Purse Bag

Here is a small bag created from the Petite Purse Die (125606). I just cut the top "flap" off and decorated with a Halloween stamp (retired, but check out Toxic Treats (127898) in the Holiday brochure in the right hand column). I added ribbon behind the stamp and curled strips of cardstock inside the "bag". You could also emboss the bag before putting it together with one of our folders. I will use the Argyle folder (127750) on the next one, maybe even sponge a little black over the embossing.

As you have probably already guessed, this is one of my favorite dies and one of my favorite holidays. I hope you have enjoyed this and will give it a try. Thanks so much for stopping by and don't forget you can order online 24/7. Just click on the online button in the right hand column to go to my SU website and place your order. I will send you a special thank you card for doing just that!

Jack-O-Purse

Here is another smile :)  This is created from the Petite Purse Die (125606) with pumpkin pie cardstock, which is run through the Stripes Folder (123128). You will need to run it through once, then line up the stripes and run it through the Big Shot (113439) again, to emboss the rest of the purse. The top is from the BoHo Blossoms punch (119858). I punched the larger flower from garden green, then cut deeper slits from each petal, curling it all up by just squeazing lightly with your fingers. I added a couple of thin strips, that I curled, and placed them on the bottom of the blossom with a glue dot (103683) and used another glue dot to place it on the top of the purse. Now dig out your Owl Builder punch (118074), yes, that is was I used with Basic Black to create the face. The triangles are the heart punched out and the curved parts cut off. The mouth is the upper part of the body, then with scissors, round down from the ears and cut out the teeth. I used the 2-way glue pin (100425) to glue these all into place.

Enjoy and thanks for stopping by!

Franken-purse

OK, this one just makes me smile! Thanks to the inspiration of fellow demonstrator,  Missi. This is created with the Petite Purse die (125606) and garden green cardstock. I cut the top flap off and cut another half of the back and flap from Basic Black cardstock, attaching the black back inside to the green back and chopping pieces from the flap for hair. I punched out the eyes with circle punches and highlighted with the White Gel Pen (105021). The nose is a small square placed below the purse slit with a dimensional (104430), the "bolts" are small circle punch on a dimensional, then I colored the dimensionals with the garden green marker. The mouth is just drawn on with fine tip black ink pen.

I hope you enjoy this and thanks for stopping by!

Maggie's Approval???

She doesn't usually pay any attention, but must have been impressed with this one. I had to wait a bit before she would let me take the picture without her in it. This is actually next to where she likes to sleep on a box in front of the window which, like I said usually doesn't bother her at all. Maybe she thought it was a new flower garden :) ! Just thought I would share and hopefully bring a smile to your life.  Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Stippled Blossoms notecards & folder

These note cards are created on whisper white cardstock (100730) with the new IN Color inks(cardstock and pad kit - 126835), Stippled Blossoms (126745) and Thoughts and Prayers (113252) stamp sets. I made a card with Midnight Muse (126861), Primrose Petals (126858), and Rasberry Ripple (126859) roses. Gumball Green (126861) was used for the leaves and Summer Starfruit (126991) for the small blooms. I used the Stampin Write Markers (126856) to color the Thinking of You part of the stamp, to match the color of the rose. Then I stamped coordinating images on each of the envelopes(107301).

And remember that stationary folder I made before here , well, I decided to decorate it and add a set of the notecards to the inside. Think my mom will like this? I stamped an image to cut out and attach to the ribbon with dimensionals (104430). I also used Sticky Strip (104294) to hold the ribbon in place on the back of the folder and Curly Cute stamp set (117014) for the thinking of you.

NOTE: This will be easier to decorate if you do it before you add the inside pocket to the folder :) .

Butterflies

This is such a simple card to make. I hope you will give it a try. The base is whisper white. I punched out different colors of circles with the 1" punch (119868), butterflie punch (127526) and attached the butterflies with a small glue dot (103683) to the circles and bent the wings up a bit. The sides are strips of designer series paper, which we have several styles of beginning on page 162 of the Idea Book in the right hand column of this blog. The larger strip is punched with the Scallop Trim Border (118402). Add your sentiment and you are done, well, with the outside, anyway.

Have a great day and Thanks for stopping by!

My owl tote

Here is my tote that I made from a pattern I picked up at the quilt show, I attended last month. You can see more pictures and find out where to purchase this pattern here . It goes together really quick and easy. Sandy's pattern has plenty of very helpful pictures to guide you along.

Have a great day!

Holiday Card Gift Box

I thought this made up into a nice box of holiday items. The top card is from yesterday's post, the cup is a 3" x 3" card and the tags are cut with the top fold just inside of the gingerbread framelit die . The measurements for the box are: BASE: 7 1/2" x 9 1/2"; score at 3/4" on all four sides, cut into score line in the corners on the long sides and assemble box. INSERTS: 5 7/8" x 7 3/8"; score at 4 1/2",
5 1/4", and 6"; second insert: 3 3/8" x 7 3/8"; score at 3 1/4", 4", and 4 3/4". Fold at scores and glue into box base. The lid is made from window sheets and cut at 7 1/16 x 9 1/16 and formed as you did for the base. NOTE: I found the window sheet hard to score and fold, so the next time I will make the lid from regular card stock, cutting a window out and attaching a piece of window sheet there.

You can find where I found my inspiration here . She did a great job and I saw no reason to try to repeat what she has already done for us :) !

This really is a nice set, so I hope you will give it a try. Have a great day and thanks for coming by!

Scentsationals

I absolutely LOVE this set! It is in the Holiday Brochure which is available on the right hand column! This set is Scentsational Season (121026 ) and I highly recommend you buy the bundle (129945 ) which includes the Framelits Dies ( 127814 ) to cut out all of the stamped images. That is so much faster and easier than using scissors! I am all for that :) ! The scentiment is from the set Bells & Boughs (120831).

I used Natural's White for the card base and to stamp each of the images. I also used Be Of Good Cheer Designer Paper ( 126896 ) and Real Red, Pacific Blue, and Chocolate Chip inks. The candy cane has our new Peppermint Sticks scented embossing powder ( 127830 ) on them using the VersaMark pad (102283) and Heat Tool (129053). I cut a slit in the coffee mug and inserted the candy cane through the slit, then attached it all with dimensionals (104430).

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Lego card

Happy Friday everyone! My grandson's birthday is tomorrow and since he is a fan of Leggos, I think he will like this one!

The base is Real Red with a Whisper White mat. The top block is Daffodil Delight, then Pacific Point, and Real Red. I started with the smallest block at 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" and increased each block by 1/2" in length. For the "pegs" I punched out the circles from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (118309) and used glue dots (103683) to stick them to the blocks. I then shaded them with the appropriate ink and dauber (102892). The expression was created with the Curly Cute stamp set (117014), Large Oval (119855), Scallop Oval (119856), and Extra-Large Oval (119859) punches. I also attached the "birthday" with dimensionals (104430), and rounded all the corners, including the card base with the3/16"Corner punch.

I personally prefer wood mounted stamps, so when I post a stamp set the number refers to wood mount, although several of our sets are now available in cling. To order just click here . Also, don't forget the clearance items that are only available with an on line order!

Have a great day and as always Thanks for stopping by for a visit!

ornament card

This is another top fold card and looks like it would open like an envelope, but that top flap is just part of the card front. The card base is Cherry Cobbler (can you tell that this is one of my favorite colors), garden green mat and whisper white for the top layer. For the flap, I actually used a can to draw a circle around and cut it in half, then attached it to garden green and cut around the curved edge with decorative scissors. I embossed the white with the Petals-a-Plenty embossing folder (116824), used a sponge dauber to rub cherry cobbler over the flowers, then sponged the edge with garden green. I actually used a circle punch to punch out one of the flowers for the "button"(you can do this in the area that will be covered with the flap). Attached it with a dimensional (104430), punched out an ornament (119847) and stamped it with Vintage Vogue (retired......but so many stamps you could use in the catalog), wrapped some silver string around the neck and knotted the end before wrapping around the "button". I then placed a dimensional on the ornament to hold it in place.

I hope you enjoyed this one and if you ever have a question, just contact me.

As always, thanks for stopping by, and remember these items are available to order in the right hand column! Have a great crafting time!

Bells& Boughs

I know, I missed Christmas in July, but for me making Christmas cards is an all year thing. That way I have them done in time to send at Christmas :) .

This card is a top fold, meaning your base is 4 1/4" x 11". I used Cherry cobbler for the base and cut the end of it with the Top Note Die (113463). To do this, place the wide part of the die across the cardstock and roll through the Big Shot (113439) just enough to cut this area, then back it back out. Then sponge this area with Cherry Cobbler ink to make it stand out. The image is actually 3D by stamping Bells & Boughs (120831) on silver, cherry cobbler and garden green cardstock with black ink and cutting out each part of the image needed in that color, then gluing the pieces together with Multipurpose  Liquid Glue (110755)[LOVE THIS STUFF!!],. I used the 1/16" circle handheld punch (101227) to create the berries from real red cardstock, attached it all to Shimmery White cardstock (101910) and stamped the sentiment. This is then sponged around the edge with cherry cobbler ink and mounted to Brushed Silver cardstock (100712), then mounted to garden green where I used the Scallop Trim Border punch (118402) on the bottom. I also added a 1/2" strip of real red under the bottom of this.

I hope you have an enjoyable day, and thanks for stopping by!

Top Note Card

First let me suggest that you save pictures of your own cards in some kind of a gallery. I started with Splitcoaststampers, which is where this one was stored. It is free and reminds me of some of my favorite ones. In fact, I will be doing one technique from mine as soon as I can, after looking through it again for today's post. You can check out my gallery here .

This is another really simple card. I created my card base with garden green cardstock. If you look close to the top you will see the flat spots. These are where the card base was folded. I laid it on the Top Note die (113463) so that the fold was just on the inside of the cutting points and ran it through the Big Shot (113439). I then cut another top note from whisper white cardstock and cut off the outer edge with scissors, using the "stitching" as my guide. I used green garden marker to highlight the stitching on the card base and also to color the stamps from Thoughts & Prayers set (113252) along with the rose red marker. I used a dauber (102892) with the garden green ink to brush accent around the whisper white edging, then attached it to the card base.

Enjoy and thanks for stopping by!

Thinking of You

Today's card is a thinking of you and not all SU, but I am sure that you will find something to use instead of the non-SU. I won't normally do this, but it was a rough weekend spent in the hospital, so I didn't get to play! I am back home and doing okay, right now, though.

So... on this card I used Apothecary Art (125525) and Beautiful Season (122680) stamp sets, Natural Ivory and Soft Suede cardstock, Soft Suede ink and marker, and the Apothecary Accents Framelits (127003) and Finishing Touches Edgelits (127010).

The background wasn't an SU folder, but I think that several of our folders would look nice, especially the Elegant Bouquet Folder (115964). The "thinking of you" was done with individual alphabet, similar to SU's Simply Serif Mini Alphabet (126360). There are so many great greeting stamps that would work, so check them out, starting on page 132 of the catalog, which you can access  from the right column.

A bit hard to see, but I "roughed up" the edges a little, using the Sanding Block (124304), and curled the one corner.

Again, I hope you all have a great week and thank you so much for stopping by my blog!

Card Box

I loved this idea! Glenda has a great tuorial here ! I actually cut the side off for the gift card, to make just the card for my box.

I used Bashful Blue, Not Quite Navy, and Whisper White cardstock, Snow Much Fun stamp set (122560), and markers to color. Glenda used nugget candy, but it will actually hold a full size bag of M&Ms, which is what I used.

This is another fun and fast project (my favorite kind), so hope you will try it.
Have a great day!

Dawn's Double Embossing

This card uses two embossing folders, Square Lattice Folder (119976) and the Designer Frames Folder (123130) You can find the technique with Dawn's great video here ! I also usedWild Wasabi, So Saffron, and Whisper White cardstock, Basic Black and Wild Wasabi inks, So Saffron, Tempting Turquoise, Rose Red, and Wild Wasabi markers, and Curly Cute stamp set (117014).

Have you ever had a stamp set that you keep wanting but always seem to put off buying? Well, that is what Curly Cute was for me! When it was time to order I would decide to purchase something else and put this set on hold, then end up making another card and wish I had the stamp set! THIS time I made the card and refused to finish it til I had the stamp in hand, so it was on my next order! Wonder which stamp set I will play this game with next......

Have a great day!

New Hope Shells

I really love the new Hope shells! Check out my Miche site by pressing the button in the right hand column.

Springtime

I am again using the hostess set, Four Seasons (126830), Naturals Ivory(101849),Crumb Cake, and Gumball Green cardstock, Polka Dot Parade Designer Series Paper(126902), Versamark and Tempting Turquise inks, Tempting Turquise and Basic Grey markers, Brads from the Brights Collection(119740), and the 1" circle (11988), 2 3/8" Scallop Circle (118874) and Scallop Edge Border(119882) punches.

I used the emboss resist method for the wreath. To do this, ink up your stamp with Versamark(102283), stamp image on cardstock, coat with clear embossing powder (109130) and heat set with Heat Tool (129053). Color in the un-embossed areas. (You don't have to be really neat with this step, because) you will then wipe off the image with a soft cloth. The embossed areas will resist the ink. If you have any questions, just send me an email!

I am waiting for my UPS guy to show up with my order! (I won't say patiently!) I will have a lot of new fun things to play with! Our Holiday Catalog is available TODAY! Check out my SU site! I will try to get a button placed on the right side ASAP.

Have a GREAT day!
