At Home Bundle

Created a couple of cards as soon as I received this bundle. I have a feeling that it will get a lot of use. There are so many things/occasions to use it for.

Here is the first one:

The background is from the Wood Textures Paper Stack and the chair is from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits. I did punch out the windows on the door and placed a small piece of Daffodil Delight behind them. The coloring was done with the Watercolor Pencils.

And now for the really fun card! I can share it now that my friend has received it. (more of the story after the sample)

The door is stamped on the background paper, which came from the Wood Textures Paper Stack, sponged with Real Red. I cut the open door and windows with the framelits. The bottom of the card is also from the paper stack to create the porch. The vases are cut out, then I cut the edges off with a pair of my jagged scissors. I also cut out the center of the lantern and placed a bit of grey behind it. Added a scrap torn piece of the paper stack to the porch to look like the wood was coming up and stamped part of the Welcome mat on to it.

Now for the inside of the door:

I ran my white and Basic Grey ink pads along a piece of Smokey slate cardstock, stamped the spider and web into the corner and glued to the inside of the door. (this was an after thought, so would have attached it to the card base first)

NOTE: When I mention punching, I am talking about using the thinlits, not an actual punch.

NOW FOR THE STORY:

Several years ago, when I was a new demonstrator, I had a class in which we created a Red Door card with LOTS of strips of red cardstock in order to make the door look 3D. It was a lot of prep work and work to glue all the pieces together. Most of my customers loved it, except for ONE! She hated it! Luckily, she became a very good friend, but we still tease her every once in awhile about wanting to create another red door, to which she vehemently disaggres. So I was smiling the whole time that I was creating this for her! Luckily, she enjoyed it, too.

I hope that you have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by!
