Here is one of my favorite techniques! I was inspired by fellow demonstrator, Ruth Trice!
The base card is 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" watermelon wonder, scored at 4 1/4".
I chose to mat the image with 5 3/8" x 4 1/8" very vanilla
The image is on 5 1/4" x 4" shimmery white
AND here is how I did it:
Stamp the main image, mine is the flower from Butterfly Basics, with versamark ink and emboss with black embossing powder (which is retiring........). You can also use black ink and clear embossing powder or just ink with black Staz-on.
Fill in the image with the Fine Tip Liquid Glue. Now be patient :( (not easy for me!!!) and let it dry completely. This will resist the other inkings.
Then using Watermelon Wonder ink, randomly stamp the dotted background stamp from the same stamp set . With the fern stamp, ink. then stamp off lightly on scrap paper before stamping onto the image piece. Lightly ink the solid "leaves" from Sheltering Tree, stamp off as before.
Sponge the same ink over and around the black stamped image, rubbing off the glued are with a piece of cloth, Kleenex, or paper towel. Sponge around the outer edges, building up the color closer to the edges.
Layer the mat and image to the card base. That is it!!!
OHHHHHH, create the envelope for this card from the In Color envelope papers (also retiring!)
Don't forget that the retiring products are only available til May 31, OR, until they sell out! I don't want you to miss out so place your order today! HERE is the retiring products that are still available.
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!
This is very pretty! I think I will try your technique. I will let you know if/when I do.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I would love to know what you think of the technique. I have two more drying, this time with out the embossing and the glue worked fine.
